Nerd Alert: The grape originated in North Africa, and was spread to Rueda in about the 11th Century, possibly by Mozarabs. Verdejo grapes are generally harvested at night. Vineyards in Rueda are about 600 – 700 metres above sea level.

Personal Note: I discovered this grape with this exact wine quite a while back. It is responsible for me changing my favorite white grape from Spain. Although as I continue this search of new grapes (for me) I try to stay away from the word favorite. Too little time, too much to try. That being said, this wine has consistently over the years been a beach favorite of mine. The acidity alone is mouth watering.
